About

Kristen Coogan, Associate Professor of Graphic Design and Chair of Graduate Graphic Design, along with Assistant Professor of Graphic Design Mary Yang and the Boston University Graphic Design (BUGD) department, have partnered with Design Incubation (DI) to launch DI’s tenth-anniversary colloquium as part of BUGD Design Week. The 2024 Colloquium will showcase design research in lively, interactive sessions featuring practitioners, creators, educators, and students in a live, in-person event. These sessions will explore creative research, practice, and the adjacent fields that influence their work through four themes:

Design + Translation
Design + Subversion
Design + Performance
Design + Methodology

Design Incubation is a national platform for educators and practitioners of Graphic Design to discuss design research and practice. Design Incubation aims to foster a community where designers can evaluate creative work through the lens of scholarly activity and academic review.
